Description
"Indian Maraca. This Hopi dance rattle is made from a gourd with tiny pebbles inside. The gourd is painted aqua with a tan and black flower like design painted both front and back. A crude wooden handle is inserted into the bottom of the gourd. The Hopi carried these dance rattles and danced to the rhythm of the pebbles."
The wooden handle has traces of white paint. There was a black and white stripe around the circumference that is flaking away.
