The Lyon County Historical Society (LCHS) is a non-profit, member supported organization located in downtown Marshall, MN. LCHS operates the Lyon County Museum, which has been located in the former Marshall-Lyon County Library building since 2012. The mission of the society is: “The purpose of the society shall be the collection, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of Lyon County and to relate it to the history of the region and the state of Minnesota”.
The Lyon County Museum consists of 3 floors with permanent and temporary exhibits. The museum also includes a research center, gift shop, conference room, and ice cream shop featuring Schwan’s ice cream!
